History

The School of Technology and Management, the organic unity of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, was established in 1985 and began his teaching activity in 1989/90. The group of Food Engineering, was established in 1995, having developed the research in cooperation with several research centers and in numerous national and international institutional partnerships. The Unit for Research, Development and Innovation in Food Science and Technology, initially designated as the Group of ESTG Food Engineering, was established on January 23, 2008, (approval of the Scientific Council of the School of Technology and Management of Viana do Castelo ).
